Games

I am using games as my instruction presentation method  I looked for websites that have games to teach  nurses how to do something.  I found two websites that are my favorites.  The first one is a website that runs ekg strips and lets the nurse guess the answer.  If you get it right you find out instantly.  If you get it wrong you can keep guessing until you get it right.  It has a section that teaches about each strip.  It is so much fun to play and very educational.

I really love this website.  It is an EKG strip testing site.  The strips run and you try to figure out what the strips are in a given amount of time.  I used this site to practice my strips for ACLS renewal.  I tell all my nurses about it so they can practice in the comfort of their own home.

I also like this abg interpretation game.  I have the hardest time with these and found this site great for eduating myself.  I have shown it to other nurses and they enjoy using it too.  This site helps you interpret the abg's.  It is very educational.

I found another site that can be useful to teachers and educators.  It is free and it is puzzle maker.  You can make all kinds of eduational puzzles.  This site has some interesting puzzles on different nursing subjects.

I also found a website that has some great educational items that can be purchased.  The variety they have on this website is phenomenal.
